Certification Training

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Legislation requires businesses to provide many types of training to their employees. Some types of training are transferable, meaning that once the worker receives a certificate they will remain certified even if they change employers. Typical Examples of this would be H2S Alive, First Aid & CPR, and Confined Space Entry. Trainings of this type offered by Performance Business Consulting include Elevated Work Platform Operator (OSSA Certified) and Boom Truck Operator.

Employer Specific Training

In addition to the certification training that employees may require, OHS Legislation also dictates that each employer must create and implement in house, or on the job, training that is specific to the equipment or procedures that the employee may encounter with that employer. This training is to ensure the competency of each employee to complete each task assigned to them and to safely operate all equipment. Equipment that requires in house training would be machines such as forklifts, skid steers, over-head cranes, etc..

PPE requires on the job training as well. When employees are required to use equipment such as gas monitors, SCBA, fall protection systems etc. they must be provided with training that is specific to that equipment. This training is to ensure that they are competent to safely use the exact make and model of equipment that is in use within your business.

Performance Business Consulting has created employer specific on the job training and competency verification systems for many types of equipment, procedures and PPE, and would be happy to assist you in creating and implementing a system that suits your business. Commercial Driver Training

Transportation legislation varies greatly depending on jurisdiction. However, the relevant legislation of most jurisdictions dictate that each carrier train their employees in Hours of Service (log books), Cargo Securement, Trip Inspection and Safety Equipment. The same legislation also dictates that carriers must implement an Hours of Service monitoring program that monitors the compliance of each driver and implements corrective actions to improve compliance (logbook auditing).

Performance Business Consulting can help ensure you comply with these legislations. We offer commercial driver training for your drivers to ensure they have the proper training to maintain accurate and legislatively compliant log books and trip inspections. For those wanting to audit the driver’s logs in house, we also offer Log Auditor training to ensure that the administrators that will be operating your compliance monitoring system are properly trained to identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions that will generate the proper results.
